Would you like to volunteer?

Are you interested in working as an Adult Reading Volunteer?

The Upper Norwood Library Hub is creating an ESOL programme for adults with Limited or No English Language skills who want to improve their speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. The ESOL programme is generously funded by the Walcot Foundation.

As part of this we are recruiting volunteers who can offer one-to-one reading and listening support to adults learning English.  There may be opportunities to support children to read from time to time.

Volunteer Reading training, resources and support will be available from the Library Hub team.

We are asking for 2 hours of your time each week.  Reading support will be offered in the library hub either during the day time, in the evenings or at weekends.

Join us to transform the lives of adults who want to increase their confidence, become able readers, improve their English language skills and increase their life chances.

To discuss this opportunity or for an information pack please ring the Upper Norwood Library Hub team on 020 8670 4389, email info@unlt.org or come into the library hub and speak to one of the hub team.
